Touritage ISP – NUB Site Visit 2: Exploring Historic Cairo’s Moez Street

As part of the Touritage Intensive Study Programme (ISP) at Nahda University, participants embarked on a heritage exploration tour in Moez Street, one of Cairo’s most significant historic districts.

The visit focused on the architectural and cultural heritage of the area, with discussions on conservation strategies, tourism impact, and the role of digital heritage documentation.

Students and faculty engaged in on-site analysis, documenting historic monuments and exploring innovative approaches to heritage preservation.

The experience emphasized the intersection of history, tourism, and sustainable urban development, enriching perspectives on adaptive reuse and cultural revitalization.


Cycle 2 : Summer, August 2025

Monday, August 4, 2025, was a full day of powerful lectures at the TOURITAGE ISP at Nahda University

The day opened with reflections on the Palermo training by Basam Abdelhakim and Aya Mamdouh, followed by Dr. Niveen Daoud’s talk on situated knowledge and materiality at Park Hill.

After the break, Dr. Eman Shaqour continued her deep dive into Palestinian architecture through conflict and rebirth, and the day wrapped up with Ahmed Farouk’s insightful case study on adaptive reuse in Bab El-Louk, Cairo.
